Privacy and analytics

What we measure on this website

SolSEO uses Google Analytics 4 through Google Tag Manager to see which pages people read, which features get used, and where sign-ups stall. It runs on the marketing pages and inside the dashboard.

What is sent

Pages viewed, buttons and links clicked, files downloaded, and named product events such as adding a site, running an audit or generating a report. Alongside those we send your plan code, your plan status, whether the account is personal or agency, your role on it, and how long the account has existed as a band such as "month 1".

What is never sent

Your email address, your name, your account number, your keywords, your rankings, your audit results and your invoices. None of those leave our servers for Google, and a value shaped like an email address is dropped before it reaches the page.

Reports are not measured at all. A report page is fetched by our PDF worker or served under your own branding to your client, and neither is ours to track.

Cookies

Google Analytics sets its own cookies once measurement is allowed. We set one cookie of our own, solseo_consent, which records your answer to the banner for 180 days and holds nothing else.

A signed-in session sets a session cookie, and optionally a "remember me" cookie if you asked to stay signed in. Neither is used for measurement. Pages served to a visitor with no session cookie are cached at the edge and carry no cookie at all.

Your choice

Visitors from the UK, the EEA and Switzerland are asked before anything is stored, and nothing is stored until they accept. Everywhere else, measurement starts on arrival; clear the site's cookies to be asked again, or turn on Do Not Track or an ad blocker and the tag will not load.

What we hold about your account

The address of each site you track, the keywords you asked us to check, the positions we recorded, the pages our crawler read and the findings it raised. Your email address, your name if you gave one, and your billing details, which are held by Stripe rather than by us: we never see a card number.

Where it is held

The application and its database run on servers in Australia. The checking and crawling worker runs on a server in Sydney. Search result data is bought from a provider that returns it to that worker; the phrase and the country are sent, and nothing about you is.

Google Search Console data is read with your permission through Google's own OAuth, using a token you can revoke from your Google account at any time. Revoking it stops the import and deletes nothing that was already imported.

What your crawler sees

The crawler reads your site the way a search engine does: over the public address, following public links, with no credential. It does not sign in, does not submit forms, and never enters a CDN's own infrastructure paths. It obeys robots directives.

If a page is private, the crawler cannot see it. If a page is public, the crawler sees exactly what anybody else would.

How long we keep it

Positions are kept for as long as the site is on the account, which is what unlimited history means. Crawl page-by-page detail is kept for the last twelve crawls of a site; everything else about a crawl, including its score, its counts, its findings and their history, is kept for as long as the site is.

Asking, correcting and deleting

Email support@solseo.com.au to ask what is held about your account, to correct it, or to have it removed. Deletion is manual on purpose, and it cannot be undone.
