The local pack

Your address, your hours and your branches, written properly

LocalBusiness data for one shopfront or a dozen, opening hours including public holidays, service areas and departments, and a report on every place the site says something different.

It publishes what you have filled in and leaves the rest out.

Screenshot: the Business tab, with one location filled in and the address report under it

The business record, which is the one place the details are kept.
What it does

One record, published once, in the right shape

Fill in the business once: the type from a list of forty-six, the address, the phone, the hours. A location is published as soon as it has a name, a street, a suburb, a state and a postcode, and anything you leave blank is left out rather than published empty.

It adds the business to the structured data the free plugin already prints rather than printing a second copy, which is what makes two plugins disagree about who you are.

Then it tells you where your own site disagrees with the record. It reads your options and your published pages, names every place the address or the phone number is different, and changes none of them.

What you need
  • The free SolSEO plugin, and SolSEO Pro for the licence key
  • A Pro Local, Pro Complete or Pro Agency key
  • An address, or a list of the areas you travel to
  • Nothing from us: no part of this pack calls the SolSEO service
The list

What the local pack does

One business, or a dozen branches

As many locations as you type in. Branches appear on the home page with the parent named, so a reader of the markup can tell a chain from twelve unrelated businesses.

Opening hours, including public holidays

Seven days, with a closed day and an all day opening both written the way Google asks for them, and a public holiday as an exception on its own date.

Service areas and departments

Areas are published as text, because the code will not guess whether a place is a city, a region or a suburb. A department is published as its own node, with its own phone number when you have typed one.

A report on every address that disagrees

Up to three thousand stored settings and five hundred published pages, read when you press the button. It edits no theme, no widget and no page, and it reports the business name only where the site itself sets one.

A draft page for each location

Built from wording you write once. Every page is created as a draft and nothing is ever published or scheduled for you.

It refuses the pages that are too alike

Before anything is written, not after. Sibling pages may share at most six tenths of their three word runs, and each page needs two facts that are true of that place alone.

No orphans

Every generated page is linked from two places: the service page it belongs to and a list of the locations. The block on your service page sits between two markers and nothing outside them is touched.

A batch you can take back

Pages are kept as a set, and a set is listed, updated or removed in one action. Twenty sets are kept, and removing one puts your service page back the way it was.

Price

On three of the five licence tiers

Local and Shop are the same price and neither contains the other. Pro Complete carries both, the content pack and five sites, which is the tier to buy if you want the pair.

One key covers the sites its tier allows. A business with a shopfront and a separate booking site is two sites.

Australian dollars with GST already in the number. Nothing here renews monthly.

Common questions about SolSEO Local

How many locations can SolSEO Local hold?

As many as you type in. One shopfront and a dozen branches are the same record, and a location is published once it has a name, a street, a suburb, a state and a postcode. Anything you leave blank is left out rather than published empty.

Does the address report change my site?

No. It reads your options and your published pages and tells you where the address or the phone number disagrees with the one you have set. It edits no theme, no widget and no page, and it runs when you press the button rather than on a visit.

Are the location pages published for me?

No. Every one is created as a draft, and a set that is too much like its siblings is refused before it is written rather than published and then found. Each page needs two facts that are true of that place alone.
