The agreement between you and us, in plain words

1. Who this is between

You, and Solkarra Group Pty Ltd, ABN 44 688 412 900, of Abbey, WA, Australia. Creating an account, or installing a plugin and pairing it, means you accept these terms. If you are doing it for a company, you are saying you may agree on its behalf.

2. What the service is

SolSEO checks where your pages sit in Google for the keywords you choose, crawls your sites and reports what it finds, and produces reports from both. What each plan includes, and every limit on it, is on the pricing page, which forms part of these terms. We can add to a plan. We will not quietly take something away from one you are already paying for.

We do not promise a position in a search result, and nobody who does can keep the promise. What we promise is that the numbers we show you are the numbers we measured.

3. Your account

Keep your password and your keys to yourself. Anything done with your credentials is treated as done by you until you tell us otherwise, so tell us quickly if you think one has got out. You are responsible for the people you invite to your account and for what they do on it.

One person, one login. Sharing a login between a team is how an account ends up with somebody who left the company still in it.

4. The sites you add

You may only add a site you own, run, or have been asked to work on. Adding a site tells our crawler to fetch its pages, and you are telling us you have the right to have that done. Our crawler identifies itself, obeys robots.txt, and stays within the crawl budget your plan sets.

Do not use SolSEO to attack anybody: no load testing dressed as a crawl, no scraping a competitor's site through us, and nothing illegal. We will suspend an account doing any of it, and say why.

5. What you pay

Prices are in Australian dollars and include GST. A plan renews automatically at the interval you chose until you cancel it. The price you are on is the price you keep until we tell you otherwise, and a rise takes effect at your next renewal, with at least 30 days of notice by email.

Cancel from your billing page and it takes one click. The plan runs to the end of the period you have paid for and does not renew. We do not refund a part used period, and nothing here limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, which are not ours to exclude. If something went wrong, write to us and we will sort it out.

An unpaid invoice suspends the service rather than deleting it. Your data waits.

6. The plugins

Both SolSEO plugins are licensed under the GPL, version 2 or later, which is what WordPress requires and what we want. That means you may use them on as many sites as you like, read the code, change it, and pass it on under the same licence. Nothing on this page takes that away, because nothing on this page could.

What a SolSEO Pro licence key buys is the paid tier of the service around the code: automatic updates from us, support, and the tier's site allowance registered against your key. Use a key on more sites than the tier covers and the extra sites will not register. Share a key publicly and we will revoke it, which affects the key rather than the code.

When a licence ends, the add-on's paid features stop and the free plugin carries on exactly as before. Your titles, descriptions, sitemaps, redirects and scores are yours and stay on your server either way.

7. Your data

Your keywords, your sites, your crawls, your positions and your reports belong to you. We hold them to run the service, we handle them as the privacy policy describes, and we do not sell them or train anything on them.

We use aggregate numbers about how the service is used, such as how many crawls ran in a week, and those never identify an account.

8. When things break

We aim for the service to be there whenever you want it, and we do not offer a guaranteed uptime percentage on any plan. Google changes what it shows and how, providers we rely on have their own outages, and a check that cannot be made honestly is one we do not write down rather than one we guess at.

Except for the guarantees the Australian Consumer Law gives you, which we cannot and do not exclude, our liability for anything connected with the service is limited to the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for lost profit, lost traffic or lost rankings, which is the honest position for any tool that measures something somebody else controls.

9. Ending it

You can close your account whenever you like. We can end an account for a serious or repeated breach of these terms, and we will tell you why and give you a chance to fix it unless the breach makes that pointless.

After closure we delete your data as the privacy policy sets out, keeping only the billing records the law requires us to keep.

10. Changes to these terms

We update them when the product changes. The date at the top moves with the words, and a change that affects what you pay or what you get is emailed to account holders at least 30 days before it takes effect. Carrying on using SolSEO after that is how you accept it. If you would rather not, cancel before it starts.

11. The legal part

These terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia, and the courts there deal with anything that cannot be sorted out between us. If one clause turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands. Nothing you do not do straight away counts as giving up the right to do it later.
